What a difference from last week.
The Terriers pulled out their best performance of the season against a useful UCFC side only to be denied once again by a late lapse of concentration.
In a blistering first 25 minutes of football, there were numerous chances for both sides, UCFC the only team to score taking a slender 1-0 lead into the break.
Early in the second Smith and Habinski combined brilliantly to open up the UCFC defence, Habinski finished well and celebrated his return from suspension with a goal.
The game continued much in the same vein as the first half, both teams going for the win. The Terriers defence were looking excellent, looking like they had a point to prove.
With honours even and the end of the game approached, UCFC were hit with a yellow card meaning that they would have to defend the final four minutes a man down.
In typical fashion of the way this season has gone for the Terriers, they responded by immediately getting a blue card to even up the numbers. Sigh.
With a minute left the extra man advantage came into play once more, Habinski was thrown on up front to look for the winner.
The gamble seem to pay off as with 40 seconds remaining on the clock Habinski stabbed the ball into the net from close range and it seemed the Terriers would finally get the elusive first win of the season!
UCFC restarted the game and promptly equalised with an absolute gift of a goal. What do the lads have to do to get a win in this league?!?!?
Nevertheless, it was a great performance, and an enjoyable game. UCFC perhaps didnt deserve to lose anyway, but neither did the Terriers thats for sure.
Man of the Match goes to the entire Terriers team. Each and every player played their part tonight and it was a great game to watch.
